Getting First Page Ranking On Google Is and Isn’t Easy

What am I trying to say? Am I being mysterious on purpose to get you to hire us? I’m going to talk about a few things we know about google search engine ranking. Below is a great “Step by Step” process to help establish your relationship with Google. Of course if you read this and would like a company to mange this for you we offer affordable “Marketing Plans” that you can hire us to work with you on a monthly basis.

Google Account

  • Sounds simple and it is. Get a gmail account like yourcompanyname@gmail.com
  • You can now use email obviously but you now have access to everything Google offers.
  • You can manage a Google My Business, Google Webmaster, Adwords, Analytics and even a Youtube channel from this login.

Google My Business

  • You have a website, your a local company selling products or offering a service.
  • You register and confirm a listing on your GMB page.
  • List your website, hours and updates about your business.
  • When someone searches for you by “Your Business Name” the results that display will be your listing on maps, in search results or a combination of both.
  • This profile gets more views if you add photos of your business or products and services you offer.
  • This profile get also gets more attention for getting 5-star reviews about your company.
  • Also it doesn’t hurt to share new pages, products and social media posts.

Wow for some companies this could be a job for someone to do daily, weekly or monthly at the very least. A couple of examples of this at work are, do a search for service or a company and see what the results look like.

Search for “BC Web Solutions” ( Link To New Window ) you will see links to our website on the left in search results and the the right side shows more information from our Google My Business Page.

Search for “BC Web Hosting” ( Link To New Window ) and now you are searching for a service that we provide. The first results are companies that are paying for Adwords to show up in that search and then you’ll see a map and some listings. Those are all made up from Google My Business listings.

Google Webmaster

  • Google Webmaster has a bunch of great things to use together with your website.
  • As a connected service to your website the main function of Webmaster is to establish and verify your site with Google.
  • Visit this page for a high-level overview of how your property is performing, and any critical issues that need to be addressed.
  • This is important to a website that has lots of new content that you want indexed as soon as possible.

Google Adwords

  • Most businesses have heard of Google Adwords as a way to pay to be at the top of “Search Results’
  • After you have established your relationship with Google My Business and Google Webmasters, you have connected your website with Google. But you do a search related to your name, a product or service that you offer and your not anywhere to be found.
  • One way to get there sooner is to pay for that keyword search to show up in “Ads” at the top of the search results.
  • In my second example of searching for “BC Web Hosting” ( Link To New Window ) You can see the Links at top with “AD” beside them.

Companies bid on that “Search Term” with the top spot going to the highest bidder. But that’s not entirely true. Google is trying to help connect “Shoppers” with links to companies that can help them. So based on several logical rules they may give a company bidding less on a “Search Term” the top spot. Here is a quick pitch. If you have a budget of more than $10 per day you should have someone help manage this for you at least once a month.

Google Analytics

  • Most businesses have heard of Google Analytics just like Google Adwords as a way to get statistics for your website
  • You can access and create reports and customize a “Display Screen” to show your websites progress
  • Options like seeing which page get looked at the most and time spent on pages are some vital stats you should know
  • Knowing what “Is” working gives you insight as to what people search for to find you

There is way more to it than just what I pointed out above. Goals, conversions and several other features can be found to help you grow your website and measure the results. Here is a quick pitch. If you have a budget like I was talking about above with the Adwords. Lets review monthly your Analytics and Adwords you are paying for and what results are coming from that.
